Nicolas Anelka has given the clearest hint at the end of the season that he will be quitting Chelsea.
The deal for the French striker runs out next season and in January, he will be able to sign a pre-contract with another team.
Today, Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua, has been confirmed to be involved in the out of favour frontman.
The Frenchman has no intention to leave Stamford Bridge, but acknowledges that he might have no choice to negotiate fresh terms with Chelsea.“I love playing here,”he stated.
“Chelsea has been the best part of my career and it’s been great playing and winning with terrific guys like Didier Drogba, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Florent Malouda.
“I was hoping to win another league title this season with Chelsea, but now, apparently, it is not to be.”
Under new coach, Andre Villas-Boas, Anelka, 32, has hardly featured this term. He joined the club from Bolton in January 2008 for £15million.
